Hi Everyone!
My flame angel has recently developed what I believe to be HLLE. He has small pits above his eyes, his lateral line is very visible, and there are small discolored patches on either side of his head (all of these ailments are symmetrical on either side). He's acting completely normal and is very colorful besides the spots on his head.
I've been feeding PE mysis, specialty angelfish food reinforced with vitamins, and I've ordered some Brightwell Vitamarin M which is supposed to help with HLLE. We've had a ground probe, but it only developed after we installed the ground probe so we removed it.
Tank Specs:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
PH: 8.1
Salinity: 1.026
The only thing I can think of that would cause stress it that we've been dosing calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium pretty aggressively trying to get our parameters up. We are also using a carbon and GFO reactor if that makes a difference.
Any advice on what might be going on or how to prevent HLLE?
