I have a new tank. I purchased my water and live rock from my LFS. It was cycled, and I took my water in every week during that period until I was given the OK to add livestock. With their advice, I decided on 2 clown fish and a finger leather coral. Put in on Saturday 5/7
My coral was closed for a little while then opened up. Then closed again on 5/8 for a little awhile and today it opened back up a bit.
I tested some parameters just now
ph is between 8.0-8.2
No nitrites
ammonia looks at about 0.25
No nitrates
Calcium 400-450
When it was cycling I never had any nitrites, ammonia never got high to 0.50 and came back down and nitrates went up and came down as well.
My LFS gave me the go ahead and since I've been the fish and coral in the ammonia has gone up. Is this normal?
