Hello from sunny Colorado!
I have recently inherited an amazing reef system from my father when he moved out of state.
The system includes:
70g Display tank
55g Display tank
10g custom sump
20g refugium
10g hospital tank
Critters include:
Leathers
polyps
ricordea
mushrooms
2 Clown fish
1 neon velvet damselfish
and more that I haven't yet identified.
I'm here because I have been neglecting the tanks for an obscene amount of time due to a difficult pregnancy. The baby is now almost 8 months old and my guilt over the tanks has hit critical. The majano anemones have taken over, and I'm starting guerrilla warfare on them.
Once I have obliterated the &*^%^%$ majano, I want to redesign the reef and make it my own. My father has a HUGE amount of live rock that (I think) makes it hard to see or spot any of the fantastic critters. However, what would I do with all that live rock? Should I lift the rock I keep? Sand or gravel or bare?
I have been reading posts here for several weeks formulating plans and drawing maps. If my husband doesn't kill me over this, I plan to become a knowledgeable Reefer.
Thank you all in advance (or in retrospect) for all the help!!
