While cleaning the glass on my 44 I noticed what looked like an air bubble inside one of the front, inner silicone seals. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be water and not air :( It goes about halfway up the seam from the bottom and will raise up and down with the slightest touch. I can't tell where the breach is and whether or not it penetrates the silicone bonding the glass panels but I'm taking no chances.
So that's where the happy part comes in as the wife and I will be picking up a new 90 gallon this week. :D Unfortunately there's zilch on craigslist so we'll have to go with a new tank @$289.
I'll be building the stand myself following the general theme seen here and running a C2C overflow with a bean animal system. I've yet to decide on internal vs external - the weight of that much 1/4" glass on the outside of tank scares me but we will see. I considered a RR tank but the minimal surface skimming and space taken inside the tank made that decision pretty easy.
Hopefully the 44 won't let go before the new tank is up and running since I'll have to get new bulkheads, valves etc ordered. I'll have a build thread started this weekend if all goes to plan. :)
