Recycling after marine ich help

Hi All,

After setting up our new tank

165 litres, LFS sand subtrate 1 inch deep, 1200l canister filter, standard lighting, 25kg of live rock and allowing it to cycle for 6 weeks, we finally added 1 x clown fish, 1 x strawberry dottyback, 1 x banner fish (over a period of 8 weeks from end of cycling) and then for a final addition added a blue tang (dory) to be moved to my dads larger tank in 6 months time. unfortunately the blue tang within three days of putting it in the display tank developed ich. Within a couple more days all fish had ich and had died even with medicating with trisulphate and hydrogen sulphate?. I must admit i didnt use a q tank, but have since set up two for future use.

We then fallowed the tank for 28 days, as per our LFS recommendation and on day 29 we added a bi colour dotty back and clown fish, who had been in the q tank for 3 weeks prior... happy healthy eating fish until they too within a few days developed ich and died.

the question is, i added 10kg of live rock (25 total) to the tank as i have to let it fallow for 80 days to be safe anyway (and always wanted a little more for a better rock scape)... can i do water changes as the tank is already cycled or leave it alone cycle again? the tank smells absolutely awful!

Thanks in advance for all your help.
