I have a BC29 about 3 weeks old now, and I've read that they sometimes "run hot" due to the hood on them. I have a 100 watt heater in chamber 1 set at 80 degrees.
I just installed a digital thermometer this evening and installed the probe in chamber 2. I'm getting a steady reading of 84.4. I have verified this is accurate by placing it in different places, and double checking with a different thermometer (from my FW tank) to make sure my reading is accurate. No mater where I put it, chamber 1, chamber 2 near the bottom of the display...still getting 84.4 deg.
Any thoughts as to what I should do? Reduce the temp on my heater until I get a reading of 78-80 deg and just disregard what the heater is actually set to?
Any input or ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
