I've had this duncan now for 7 days in my 20gal long. I have target fed it every other day. The guy at the LFS said the more I feed it the faster it will grow. However, I did have a slight ammonia jump a few days ago and I'm still battling it. I just did my third water change in 4 days. First change was a 2 gal, then the next day a 5 gal, and again just 30 minutes ago another 5 gal change.
Today is the first time since the ammonia spike that the duncan is opening up this much. If the retracted part of the head potentially where a new head is growing? Or could this be damage from the ammonia?
I'm currently using prime to detoxify the ammonia and using Seachem's Stability to add bacteria to deal with the ammonia. I tested the parameters this morning.
Ammonia - 0.25
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0
pH - 8.0
Temp - 77.8
