I got my DB 80 set up and plumped, and finally filled after the huge ro problem. My question is how high should the water be in the over flow box? I do think mine is way to high. It is pretty much the same level as the water in the tank. At the bottom of the cap of the standpipe. Ive been fighting with it for days now and I can't seem to get it right.
I have the intake turned down about a 1/4 of a turn and the return pump eheim 1252 900 GPH turned all the way up. IF I open the intake all the way up and it drops the water level in the box about 4 inches. The waterfall noise is crazy and the intake pipe is super loud.
The intake is a Durso Standpipes into a 1 inch bulk head. Ive drilled the top out to a pretty decent size whole. Comes off the bulk head off a 45. Pretty much right into valve and into another 45 and into the sump. Maybe a foot and a half long from tank to sump
Is the intake being closed that much a problem? Ive read people say that you should never put a valve on the intake side and such. I just want to make sure I get this right.
