let me start with my tank; its a 90 gallon, 21 inch deep tank. my lights are in a hydrofarm fixture. got two blue T5s and two white T5s, the whites are on the out side and the blues in the middle. here is my concern: they all come on and turn off at the same time. they are on 10 hours from noon to 10pm. they are placed 7 inches above the water line.
im really new to the hobby, i was told by the guy at the fish store i have to have lights on at night, not only to see them glow, but to simulate moon light. im not to sure he is just trying to make a sale, or even if he knows what hes talking about.
i would love to see my coral glow at night but is that possible if i purchase a strip of blue LED's. thanks, Ive been concerned about my lighting for a while, but his comments just sparked my interest a little more.
also I'm not one of these guys where money is no object, it definitely is a big reason towards why i got the set-up i got.
