Well, I decided it was time to finally post something about my tank! I got it for Christmas (best present ever!), and everything went well.
Fish:
False Percula Clownfish
Emerald crab
Pistol shrimp
2 blue-leg hermits
An assortment of snails (less than 10 total)
BTA
Equipment:
Eshopps Nano Overflow Box
AquaticLife 110 protein skimmer
240 GPH circulation pump
Return pump (forgot the name)
When I replaced my crushed coral substrate with aragonate, I removed my blue finned watchman goby I had because the goby and pistol shrimp never paired. I'm thinking of getting rid of my BTA also because I want corals later.
I have been battling red hair and slime algae for about 2 months, but I think I'm finally winning the battle! I use only use the RO and saltwater I buy from my LFS, so that wasn't the issue. My phophates were never high when I got them tested. After I blew the rocks for detritus, most of the algae went away.
I'm replacing my live rock rubble with chaeto and getting 1 x red, 1 x green, and 1 x white LED strip for it. Hopefully all will go well and reduce nitrates!
I think I'm doing pretty well for a teenager still in high school. I'm so obesessed my LFS gives me great deals and expects me every weekend :rotflmao:. Please comment on if I did or am doing anything wrong! Also, any fish suggestions are welcome! I'll have to post a picture later because it's not letting me right now.
