Anyone know about Macroalgae?

Finally, I got my greedy little hands on a chunk of halymenia (dragons breath) macro. This pic was taken right after it was put into the tank and was a little pale from shipping. It is now a lovely bright red.



I can't find out too much about it online, since it is pretty hard to get.



So on to the question. Will this algae take root on the rock, or is it forever doomed to be rubber-banded?
