Hello all! I started this build back on 6/8/13 so I am coming up on my one year anniversary.
When I started I didn't really know what I was doing so I think I bought the wrong equipment and I'd like to swap out some components.
Anyway, here are my specs!
*Lots of various coral frags scattered throughout my live rock, I'll have to take new pictures tomorrow and upload them.*
Setup
30 lbs. of live sand
50.5+ lbs. of live rock (various regions)
Fish Inhabitants
1x 3-stripe black & white damsel
1x tomato clown
1x blue/green chromis
1x yellow watchman goby
1x fiji blue devil damsel
1x yellow damsel
Shrimp
1x coral banded
2x peppermint
1x tiger pistol
Clean-up Crew
2x red leg hermit
2x emerald crab
10+/- blue leg hermit
10+/- atlantic turbo snail
10+/- narcissus snail
10+/- nerite snail
Tank
Top Fin 37 gallon tank
30"W x 12"D x 22"H
built into wall/closet installation
Powerheads
1x Hydor Koralia 600 gph
1x Hydor Koralia 550 gph
1x Hydor Smart Wave controller (set asynchronous every 15 secs)
Overflow
eShopps PF-800
Sump
All-Glass Aquarium MegaFlow Model 3
wet/dry with bioballs
Protein Skimmer
Coralife Super Skimmer 65G
Return Pump
Rio Plus 2100
Chiller
Current Prime Chiller 1/15 HP
Refugium
Finnex External Refugium/Breeder Hang-On Box 1 gallon w/light
RO/DI
BRS 5 Stage PLUS RO/DI System - 75GPD
I really feel like my equipment is too much for the small tank and especially the chiller and just kind of thrown together almost a year ago.
Here's what I'd like to swap over to:
eShopps PSK-75 in-sump protein skimmer
eShopps PF-300 overflow
eShopps RS-75 reef sump (either this or a fuge? no bioballs really needed for reef, right?)
Rio Plus 1000 (I figured the slower the gph, the better for the chiller?)
replace both Hydor powerheads with 1 EcoTech Marine VorTech MP10ES
Thoughts anyone? Sorry for the very long first post but I should have joined a year ago.
