Hey Everyone,
New to this site. I'm trying to understand what may have happened to a huge Black Serpent Star that I have had for many years? I have not seen it in months now. Generally during the night it would have an arm stretched across the reef from front to back. I could feed it a piece of shrimp or fish and it would instantly, "smell it". Not sure where it is not? I have a reef safe take and inhabitants. About a year ago, my tuxedo urchin ended up dying (unknown) and I replaced it with a long-spine urchin. I don't believe that urchins and stars are enemies? The star was about 28" tip-to-tip. It did reproduce at one point with another Tiger Serpent Star that I had that also went missing?
Any thoughts? Tha:freak:nks in advance for all of the inputs!
Best Regards,
Dave
