Should I have Live Rock in with the Chaeto in my sump?

Hey guys, should I have a piece or two of LR in my sump? I am going to have Chaeto in the middle ref chamber and I was wondering if I should put LR in there as well.. would that increase the pod population? Are there any other benefits? Thanks
