This is something I have not done in awhile and dont see discussed much any more.
I was wondering through the ace hardware store a few weeks ago and sitting there with the canning supplies was some Mrs. Wages Pickling lime of all things. I was really wanting to keep things as simple as possible with this latest tank and never even considered the good old kalk drip but when I was able to find everything else need to do it the store I figured why not.
It might just be my imagination but I think in just two weeks I can see improvement in the tank and as it turns out its it seems more convenient than adding things to my top off water every day and now that its dialed in its working as a ATO also.
Turns out I was breaking my own rule of keeping it simple and sticking with what works. I have already kicked my self for forgetting something so tried true and if you feel like something is missing from your tank it might just be the good old kalk drip.
