I have 40 gallon planted tank and I would like to put in a sump system. I'm familiar with the requirements for the GPH etc, for marine systems, but I've never done one for a planted tank. What is a good size over flow box to use? How many GPH (approximately) should i be shooting for? I currently have 7 varied smaller cichilids, and have just begun to pick out plants, except for a small patch of dwarf hair grass which i have already purchased (and its doing VERY well). Any suggestions/links to what speed pump/size over flow would be good for a setup like this, would be EXTREMELY appreciated. Thank you so much guys for all the help. Anything helps.
