Is this common amongst triggers???!

My male blue throat trigger, who I've had for about 3 months now, decided to take a soaring leap out of my aquarium this evening!! I shut off the lights, walked out of the room, and the next thing I hear is a slapping sound like a pen being dropped from the second floor onto the tile. I walk over and see my trigger flailing helplessly on the floor, grab a paper towel sitting on the counter I'm standing by, scoop him up with it, and toss him back into the water. Instead of hiding like I thought he would, he started swimming fast laps back and forth and up and down the glass. He appears un-injured, I'm just praying nothing's damaged internally either. Have you ever had a fish fall from over five feet onto a tile floor and bounce back? And have you ever had your triggerfish jump?? I didnt think they were jumpers?
I'm very worried about him, and still a little shaken up over the ordeal as you can probably tell!
