Coralife super skimmer 65 pump going bad, new pump or new skimmer?

I felt a tingle in the water when i had a cut on finger and it seemed to come from skimmer pump, i unplugged and it went away, plugged back in the feeling was still not there but then about an hour later i heard the venturi air line making a slightly higher pitched noise and felt the tingle again. Is there a suitable or better pump to replace the factory one or would i be better off just getting a better skimmer outright that comes with pump?

Tank is 37 tall with a 10g sump, my coralife ss 65 is HOB on my sump currently
