Actually I did some research before I got one but I didn't realize what Houdini's these little guys are.
So Friday I get a green leather toadstool from the LFS, it was just attached to the bottom and side glass of a tank. So I got it home acclimated it and attempted to glue it to piece of dry rock. No dice, slime coat sluffs off the glue and I find it face down on the sand in my tank the next morning.
Ok, so I try method 2 - sewing it to the piece of dry rock with fishing line. I'm no seamstress but I managed to sew the darn thing by the foot to the rock. Wait. Is it trying to actively escape its current predicament?
Yup, sure is. Saturday afternoon it's tumbleweed blowing around my tank.
On to method 3 rubberband it to a rock. Couldn't find a rubberband around the house to save my life, who has rubberbands anymore anyways? Wait my daughter has hundreds of rubberbands for her rainbow loom. So I grab some and tie them together to get a rubberband large enough to get a pretty tight fit around the coral and rock. So after I drop the thing on the floor in a pile of dog hair I think I have it this time, try as it might I could see it wouldn't get away this time.
Sunday morning it's gone. Find it sucked up to a piece of pukani that sits in the sand bed. Seems to like where it is even if I'm not totally thrilled.
Anybody else have so many problems with this little beastie? If I buy another I'll make sure somebody else fought to get it attached to a rock already.
