A few months ago I put some of my LR into my sump because I felt the scape in my display tank had too much. Needless to say I have now changed my mind and would like to fiddle around a bit and get the sump rocks back into the display. Unfortunately, the sump rocks are FILTHY and I'm worried blowing the crap off them will cause a nitrate storm. Could I gently clean them outside of the tank with RO then put them back in? Or will that kill any important critters...
