Would like your opinions on stocking for my 1st SW tank!
40gal tank; there is 15lbs Caribbean Aragonite & 20lbs Caribbean live sand Plus approx 20lbs of live rock.
So far I'm happy with the bottom "layer" of my rock. Next up I'm thinking a giant slate right from the single tower on the right all the way to the highest peak on the left "cropping" I also think the background is gonna go (tank was a used purchase & the background came with it), it makes it seem so dark!
I also intend to upgrade the old "standard" canopy. But I'm not sure with what. I have to have a lid as I have cats & there is a ledge shelf right behind the tank. on my upstairs FW tanks (10gal & 30gal) I use glass hinge top w/Aqueon Modular LED light. Not sure if this is an option on this tank b/c I plan on buying a HOB Protein Skimmer on Saturday when they go on sale.
As you can probably figure out this tank is going to be a slow build, as finances allow.
So for my cleaner crew I'm thinking a combo of: Brittle Starfish, Astrea snail & Bumble bee Snail, Candy Stripe hermit crab. possibly a peppermint shrimp?
1st fish: 2 Blue Sapphire Damsel. Everything I've read online is these guys are the most peaceful of the Damsels & I love blue fish! eventually I want other fish but mostly this tank is going to be about the corals!
