Calcium Reactor set up/Controler

So, Getting back into the swing of things and want to set my tank up so that it is more "user friendly". Going to be adding a calcium reactor, and possibly later down the like the apex. First, I have heard that you don't need a PH controller with the apex. Is this the case. I can't seem to find any real solid info on that. Will the apex really do it all and save be 100-200 bucks? If so I will wait to set this Ca reactor till I get the controller. If not, do you guys have recommendations for the PH controller? I have been satisfied with my pinpoint monitor, but saw the Milwaukee was about half the money. Is the value really there? And lastly, Need to get a regulator. Again Milwaukee looks to be a cost effective option, but I am more concerned with reliability.......can I trust it.
