Adding liverock to an "established" tank?

Alright stupid question time...

My new tank has been cycling for a month and a half now, but nitrates just won't go down. A buddy of mine had a look and said I needed more rock. I have live rock, 2 inches of live sand as well as good flow. Would adding more wet live rock from my LFS restart the cycling process or am I ok?
