New tank help, cloudy water

Hello TRT!

Back story:
65g DT 20g sump 60 lbs LR
Was an established tank I bought off varage sale, and have had it set up for 3 weeks now. The first week I saw some changes in water parameters, but the second week everything was stable at acceptable levels. Nitrites, nitrates and ammonia were all at 0 for a week before LFS told me I should add my first livestock. They tried to talk me into some damsels, but I wanted to start with my cuc. I got 3 snails and 2 emerald crabs. They've been in the tank a week as of today. On the advice of LFS I have not had my Coralife super skimmer running yet.

Now the problem:
Last night before bed I topped off the water level, fed the crabs, and tested water parameters. Water was crystal clear and nitrites, nitrates and ammonia were all at 0. This morning when I got up, the water in both DT and sump are really cloudy!

Today's parameters:
Nitrites between 3 and 5 ppm
Nitrate 5 ppm
Ammonia 0 ppm
pH dropped to 7.4
Alkalinity 120 ppm
Phosphate 0
Salinity 1.025

Could this be a bacteria growth due to excess food? Or is it possible my tank was not fully cycled when LFS told me to add livestock? Should I get the crabs out? Will they die on me if I leave them in (lfs says need livestock to cycle, but I know this is cruel and don't want to do that)? I usually do water changes on Sunday, should I do one today, will it help at all? Is there anything else I can do at this point? Should I be turning on the protein skimmer?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice
