The time has come to move up from my 55g which will most likely be shut down, maybe, in the months ahead once the new 180g is properly up and running. With work and budgets it will be a slow process but hopefully by spring everything will be transitioned.
Having passed the leak test (used tank) last weekend, today we took it apart to re-line the base. The entire tank was sitting on 1/4 plywood on the short sides, however, there was about gap on the front and long sides because there wasn't any plywood. I wasn't comfortable with that.
Anyway, the following pics are the status as of this moment, sump next week, and my wife is responsible for the aquascaping which is currently loose-fit assembled on moving blankets on the garage floor. 120lbs of dry base rock, 25lbs of tonga shelves. I have 55 lbs of live rock in the 55g that will eventually move to the 180 or into the sump to seed the rest.:blob:
