When to add bio media.

First of all let me say I love this site. There's so much information. Every question has been answerd by using the search option :) except for one..lol.

So I just finished cycling my tank just useing live rock and sand. My question is... When can I or should I add bio media like purigen,etc to my media basket I just got for my 12g nano cube?
