Only half of LED lights staying lit?

I was recently given a new reef light for my 45g tank. It's a 36" long marineland strip with both white and actinic blue LEDs. The problem is that since I got it, the right half (the half opposite the on/off switch) has inconsistent lighting-- it flickers throughout the day, anywhere from full brightness down to dim, sometimes with the whites off entirely. I've been keeping it mostly consistent by putting a small weight on the middle of the light, but that's not a proper long-term fix.



So what I'm asking is, has anyone had this experience before? Is there any way to fix it?
