I am having a diatom bloom currently, it was worse last week but now it's getting stringy (very short hair like structures) and seems to be bothering some of my corals. I have a birdsnest that isn't fully extended but is opening, and my GSP's are closed. I try to blow the corals off every day until the diatoms leave. Are the diatoms really bothering the corals or could it be something else? I see some build up on the GSP, which i blow off, and their tentacles are shriveled when they do open. Duncan, zoas and trumpets dont seem to be bothered.
