I bought 500ml of Bulk Reef Supply Bio-Pellets and a large Reef Octopus reactor in February of 2012. I've run that reactor 24/7 and still have most of the original pellets rolling @ a slow boil in the reactor.
Over the past week or so, my nitrates have reached >20ppm and I'm beginning to wonder if these pellets are really consuming anything.
The instructions on the label suggest 1 cup for 50g system volume.
My system volume is well over 500g.
I'm thinking about adding more pellets, but not sure the pump I have will keep the extra media moving.
Are all bio-pellets created equal?
