Bio balls or not?

I've read in a few different places that the bio balls are not the best to have. I am currently using bio balls plus some tiny live rock, minus about 15 or 20 bio balls.



I've got the 29g coralife biocube with about 30lbs of live rock.



I just recently discovered the intank media basket. Anyone who has made the switch could you tell me what you noticed, and if it was difficult?
