New tank (need to put in build thread)has been running for two weeks with no ammonia or nitrate spike detected. Diatoms just barely starting
Testing every few days.
Setup consists basically of 50 gallon cube with 18 gallon sump
sump has filter sock return pump and protein skimmer(unplugged for cycle)
20# dry rock (rinsed)
1 inch dry sand bed(rinsed)
teaspoon of blender food(to start cycle)
2 gallons old waste water from existing biocubes(to start cycle)
Light on in sump at night and light on in display during day
Should I add more food or just wait. I thought I would catch a spike by now. Should I have bioballs or something else in sump?
Both year+ biocube 14's I have showed spikes in 5-6 days.
