Hey there new member, I have a jbj nano cube 28 gal with about 50 or 60 lbs of live rock along with numerous livestock and many corals lps and softies. Anyway i am away at school but my dad has been calling saying its being ovegrown with hair algae. I think this is due to the rock being packedin the tank against the walls creating many dead spots, not to mention the water it displaces. Anyway im going home this weekend to 1.evict my snowflake eel, and 2. rearrange live rock. I want to take some live rock out and then rearrange the rest so that flow can pass all the way around. My concern is will it set off a cycle in my tank? i have a sand bed on the shallow side apprx an inch deep. Im very nervous about that. Next is i was planning on taking live stock out and putting in a bucket of water, and laying a bunch of towels out and setting the rock on them. How long can these rocks be on the towels out of the water before there is die off on the rocks that would set off a cycle. please help as i am doing this starting tomorrow!!
