Too Early FRIDAY

Good Friday Morning, Everybody! :)

Woke up way too early with a foot cramp. :( It's all right, just gives me more time to enjoy the last day of my staycation.

Coffee and a donut will have to do until Cath opens up her virtual café.

I spent yesterday afternoon with a trip to the Cataloochee Valley, in a remote section of the Smokies near Waynesville, NC. The valley, once a hunting ground for the Cherokee, was first settled by pioneer families in the early 1800's. It was a thriving community, though isolated, until the land was taken for the National Park. Elk were re-introduced into the valley in 2001 and a small herd thrives there. I just might have a few pictures to share over the coming days. ;)

This big Bull Elk is resting but keeping an eye half-open to watch over his little harem of elk cows.

Have a Fantastic Friday!

Dick:)
