Question About Moving Liverock and Adding.

Alright, so the whole idea of what I am wanting to do is get rid of all of the mushrooms in my tank. They spread to quickly and kill just about everything they touch. My tank is about 4 years old, it is a 125 with about 130 lbs of live rock. My plan is to move all of my live rock that has mushrooms on it into my sump. Then I will slowly over time add more live rock to the display, maybe 10 lbs a week. What do you guys think about this? Will the mushrooms die off in the sump and cause spikes? Will just moving the rock to the sump in general cause spikes?

I was also thinking I could cut off as many of the mushrooms as possible before placing them into the sump, would this help? About half of my rock will be moved to the sump if I go through with this. About 6 months ago I removed a huge Colt coral and instantly added about 25 lbs. of live rock without any problems (if that helps sway your answers).

Let me know your thoughts.
