well I have decided I do want to plumb in my 10g tank and make it a frag tank. with the flow I want on my DT I find its going to be pretty hard to effectively grow softies. in the 10g ther is pretty low flow with all of it directed at the floor and doesn't really disturb the frags I have in there and they love it. but in my display the flow is a little high and I don't have enough low flow spots for a frag to really take off. they don't like to look as happy, at least the paly's & protopaly's don't, the zoa's don't seem to mind as much.
but I have a peppermint shrimp in there and a red/green goby on order that ive already paid for (wouldn't be a problem in the DT but I got him specifically for this tank). originally I was thinking of doing it like the traditional frag tank with egg crate and sort of ugly, then I remembered I have livestock for it. so now im thinking of either having egg crate above the few rocks I have. or lifting everything an inch of so off the bottom with a full tank rocklift and being able to have the tank filled with small rocks that will have frags on them. this environment would work very well with the red/green goby's original habitat since he is actually the protector of the Acropora nasuta sps coral.

so that's the purpose of what the tank is for. and ive been trying to figure out how to plumb it since both the tanks are tempered and without adding 2 separate overflow boxes.
and I just got an idea. I have 2 small HOB filters, I could just drill into those! HOB #1 will pump water from DT to frag tank and HOB #2 will pump to sump. they are both the same model filter so essentially should be the same gph.
any other ideas would be great. im looking for the least amount, or smallest equipment possible and no money spent lol. but that may change seeing as this wont be done for awhile, other things need to come first plus I would like a more mature system as well.
