My saltwater tank

My fish tank – total volume /w sump 113G



Main Tank (running for 17 months)

• 17 x 27 x 46.5 inches (constant level – Water only) 92.4 gallons volume

• 2 circulation pumps (900/1200 GPH) per hour on 15 sec interval wave maker switch

• 4” of live sand

• 97# of live rock been there since beginning (coralline grew in, almost taking over)

• 6 tube t5 HO lighting (3 purple, 2 blue and a sunlight)

• Overflow 1” output

• Up pump ¾” input (from Sump)

• Aqua pump sucks out air to keep siphon @return of power loss

• 98% full cover glass tops



Sump (running for 5 months)

• 36 x 11.5 x 12 gallons level fluctuates - 21.51 gallons

• 20 lbs live sand

• 20 lbs grunge

• 4.5 lbs miracle mud

• 1 lb of chateo

• A fistful of Dragons breathe (new @3 weeks)

• 4 lbs crushed aragonite rock, golf ball sized

• 2 handfuls purple coralline algae covered break offs

• 300w heater

• Seaclone 150 sump

• Grow Led light (white\red)



Routine

• Tank recycles from cloudy to clear in 1hr (water changes…. Moving rocks stirring sand) etc…

• Water\chems added into sump (diluted\balanced) RO water

• 25% water change the 15th of every month



Food

• Tetra marine brine enhanced flakes

• Frozen Blood worms

• Frozen Mysis shrimp

• Seaweed on a clamp



Water Specs – right before water change (9/18/2014_) 25% - change every 30 days

• Salinty 1.024

• Phosphates 0.0

• PH 8.3

• Ammonia .25

• Nitrite 0.0

• Nitrates 5.0

• Calcium 550

Inhabitants

• 2 percuala clowns, 2 acclimated saltwater mollies

(acclimated for 7 ½ hrs, had 2 sets of fry, I let some grow, most as food), 1 royal gramma, 1 firefish, 1 purple dotty back, 2 blue\green chromis (very disappointed I wanted a school running around my tank, they tend to kill each other in contained groups  and 1 lemon blennie)

• 10 turbo snails

• 50 cerith snails (when I bought them – still a ton)

• 2-3 limpets

• 20 nassurius snails (when I bought them – still a ton)

• 3 bumble snails

• 3 zebra turbo snails



Corals\misc

• Several spaghetti worms

• 2 types of Zoas

• Polyps (maybe) two kinds

• Grey sponges x 2 and lotz o spores

• Purple coralline algae (everywhere)

• Yellow algae (large patch)

• Green dense algae (not hair)

• Random white lil starfish (some have 5 legs, some don’t) don’t see them after a couple months again

• Tons of brine shrimp

• Leather flowing SPS? 2 large patches - spreading
