Gorgonian reef

Hello!

As some of you may know, I've been thinking about keeping seahorses. However, I enjoy natural corals/ algaes more than fake hitching posts, so I'm hoping to keep a reef comprised of only gorgonians, various algaes, and maybe a leather or mushroom thrown into the mix.

I have a couple questions though:

Can gorgonians live comfortably at lower temperatures than our typical reef tanks? I, of course, will not have a heater on the tank for the sake of the horses, so the temperature may drop to the low sixties during the winter. The water's temperature should be between 67-74 the majority of the time though.

Next, what sort of lighting should I keep for the gorgs? I know seahorses typically don't like bright light, and I'd rather not pay a whole lot on lights if they aren't absolutely neccesary.

I know gorgonians can either be photosynthetic or be fed, and I'd like to keep a mixture of the two if possible.

Any other information pertaining to gorgonians is welcome! :)

Thanks in advance!
