Hello. Like recently purchased a FLUVAL Aquaclear 40-70 power filter for my 46 gallon bowfront. I haven't opened it yet because I have a protein skimmer and the person i bought the tank from said the filter was not required. Should I have it anyways? And also I was wondering if it could be converted into a mini refugium, if so is that a good idea to do or just leave it like it is? Thanks.
