Hello everyone,
I am new to the reef keeping hobby, but have had freshwater fish off and on for bout 15 yrs. I bought a 180 gal saltwater tank w internal overflows about 8 yrs ago and it has sat in my garage /storage since. For the first couple yrs alls I did was research and read books about keeping saltwater fish and corals, but couldn't bring myself to commit to the time and dedication necessary for keeping them happy and healthy.
Now is the time. While cleaning out our garage recently my wife said it's about time to move the tank inside and start getting it set up. Not sure she understands the money involved in that.....lol. I'm building the stand out of stainless steel angle iron and plan to have a 55 to 75 gal sump underneath. For the last few months I have been hitting the Internet pretty hard doing more research and relearning what I learned years ago.
It's going to be 6 to 8 months before I will even b ready for dried rock (and a few pieces of live), then 3 to 4 more b4 I add fish but I'm pumped to get started.
