Anyone ever check out these Zero Edge Aquariums? http://ift.tt/1o3zG5C. These guys are out in Illinois by me. They are basically a constantly overflowing aquarium. The water spills over the sides into a trough that is usually below a desk or table. This trough then has a standard overflow that drains into a regular old sump and pumps back into the display.
While I don't think it would be too feasible for fish seeing as how they can possibly spill over the top, it is pretty cool as a coral only or planted tank. They're pretty pricey but the concept is nice. Thought I'd share for some of the DIY guys and gals out there....:beer:
