Hello!
I changed the lights on my reef recently, and my anemone decided to move. Unfortunately, last night the RBTA decided to "crawl" under a rock that's both near the sand and has tubes made by little critters under it (looks like a cave with stalactites), so it was a tight fit for it's 16 or so inch disk and massive foot. The anemone caught itself on one of the "tubes" and rather than backtracking and unhooking itself like I thought it would, it just plowed right on through, and ripped a chunk out of itself. This was a completely self-inflicted injury on the anemone's part, so I thought it'd be fine..? Today however, the anemone is still hiding most of the way under the rock overhang, so I'm worried it might have seriously hurt itself. For some reason my phone isn't allowing me to attach an image at the moment, so I'll try to describe the injury in as much detail as possible.
The injury is on the foot, and almost resembles a hangnail sense a small flap of "skin" is peeled back about an inch. I'd guess the cut is about 1/4 inch deep. There's an obvious rip in the anemones foot, but the injury doesn't appear fatal... I'm just not sure how bad an injury has to be for one of these guys to be in serious trouble?
Thank you!
