Tunze Osmolator

Hey I have a question about the Tunze Osmolator. I recently purchased the Osmolator Nano thinking this would work for my setup. Unfortunately I have a 50 gallon tank with no sump and when I mounted the sensor in my display it does not keep my water high enough. It allowed the water to drop below the black rim so the waterline was visible. I could not mount it any higher and seeing the waterline drives me crazy.



So now I am looking at the regular Osmolator with the optical eye sensor. Does anyone have this mounted on their display of a rimmed tank? Is it more sensitive to water changes than the float? Will it allow you to keep the water level higher so the waterline is not visible under the black rim?
