help with cloudy water only certain times of the day

So I have Red Sea Max 130d tank set up and running for about 4 months now. It had went through the cycle and the typical algae bloom of green algae and diatoms. All is cleared up except the occasional diatoms on the sand that I cant seem to completely get rid of.

About a month ago I noticed that my tank would get cloudy ( almost look like smoke in the tank) only certain times of the day and other times it would be crystal clear. It would get cloudy for a period of 8 hours or so and then would clear up and be crystal clear. It would occur a little bit before the lights come on and would clear up a little before the lights went out, but I don't know if this was related or not because it wasn't exaqctly when the lights are on and off. I have purigen and chemipure running in there and I changed it once I saw cloudiness, but it did no good.

I do have a skimmer running also and it seems to be working well. My water parameters were all on point; ph-8.2, ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nirate <5, calcium 420, kh-8, phosphate-0, salinity-1.026, temp-80 degrees. I do water changes once a week. I asked the local fish store what I could do and they recommended that I blackout my tank for 3 days straight with absolutely no light and this actually worked. From then I have added a firefish goby and a couple of corals and have a clean up crew of hermit crabs snails and a coral banded shrimp.

Now this past week it has started up again-the exact same problem--cloudiness only for a certain amount of time and then clear up later on. I could once again blackout the tank for 3 days ands im pretty sure it will clear up, but I feel like its gonna happen over and over again and I just want to resolve the issue before I start adding more livestock. Any of you guys have any suggestions as to what might be causing this??? is it an waterborne algae only affecting the water column?
