Changing out my sand

I'm looking to change out my sand this week. Instead of white, I'd like to try black sand to see if I like the look. As usual, the sand bed is only going to be 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.



Is there any issues buying black sand that is normally used in fresh water tanks?
