I am still fairly new to SPS. I have been around saltwater tanks for a while, but have only had my own for a little over a year and the ones I was around before were all softie dominated tanks.
My first question is about growth. I noticed that my montis seem to grow at a consistant rate that is pretty predictable. My acros on the other hand... a lot of them seem to not grow for a while, then within days jet out a new branch of about 1", then it will stop growing and it is like the polyps are playing catch up. So branch shoots out, polyps slowly follow behind to fill in. Is this normal, or is it a sign my parameters might be going off for a while during the times the actual stony part is not growing? I test regularly and never notice any swings and everything stays pretty consistant.
Also, how the **** do people put frags on their glass and overflow??? I tried gluing a frag to my overflow yesterday and it is just so smooth there is nothing for the glue to grab onto. I could rough it up a bit first, but I have also seen some people with frags attached to their glass and I doubt they deliberately rough up the glass just to glue a frag to it. Am I missing something? I am fairly sure I am MEN free now and getting a couple plating montis at the swap coming up next weekend. I wanted to put one frag in each of the corners of my tank -- on the glass if possible -- to grow out from there. That way it will be confined to only grow out one way making it more managable to deal with, it wont shade any of my other SPS, and it will look cool  If someone can share this "secret" with me that would be great... thanks
