Plan to remove aiptasia, good or bad?

I have an abundance of aiptasia growing in my reef tank. They are pest anemone and are killing my Kenya tree, I believe. I have a tank that houses a trigger, would I be-able to put a rock in there just covered only with aiptasia for him to eat? Then I could just put the clear rock back in my reef tank? A good idea or horrible idea? They are in two different rooms and do not use the same filtration, if that might effect it.
