Algae Problems

I have a 130 lr marine tank with 6 little hermit crabs, 4 damsels and 2 cherry shrimp and i have started to have algae growing everywhere and i dont know what i should do other than cleaning the tank and doing a water change is there any other solutions you have for me?? and also could you give me a hint to why this is happening as well
