New to the forum, apologize if there is an existing thread I didn't find. Problem: We set up a 30 gal tank about 5 months ago. Live rock, sand to begin. Allowed it to cycle for about 5 weeks, introduced a few plants (which are still living). Introduced a few (5) hermits a week later. Introduced one cardinal (2" long) a week after that. Allowed that to stabilize for about 2 weeks, introduced a couple of clown fish (1"). Fast forward a few months, everything seems to be doing fine (about 20 hermit crabs, a few goby's, Anemone, etc.). In a span of about 2 hours, ALL fish went from healthy to dead. Obviously something spiked, not sure what. All plants still living, starfish still living, crabs still living, sand conch still going strong. Anemone died. Tested water, ammonia is high, nitrate high "ish", nitrite very low, pH 8.
Checked for electrical current, didn't find one (doesn't mean it wasn't there). Thoughts? I did not check dO.
