We got a Goniopora a few months back now, and it was doing pretty well in our tank until the last few weeks since we had a dip in PH.
When we first got it, it stayed retracted for a few days. Since then it was getting really nice long extension majority of the time - on occasion it would be retracted for a day or two.
Since the dip though - it has been retracted for weeks. At most it would show its polyps without any extension. Some parts of the Goni seem to be not showing polyps at all and instead have that "golf ball" look.
We have had a few slight ammonia spikes - no livestock seems to be dying and all other corals are thriving, bar a frag of zoa's that seemed to be dead (which we removed from the tank a few days ago)
Do you think it's dying?
I can take some photos if you'd like - but at the moment the blue light is on and my iPhone camera isn't good enough to pick up any details.
