Coralife skimmer bubbles...

I just installed my coralife 65 superskimmer onto the back of my tank and everything seems to be okay (knock on wood) except for the micro bubbles?? I have the diffuser on there and no matter how I adjust it, microbubbles spew out of it. The other problem is that the top part of the diffuser is sticking out of the water and creating a lot of fizzing and I'm worried about salt creep ruining my wall. Am I being paranoid? Is there a way to fix these things?
